finally*found*time

This is gonna be the most random blog post ever today. I can't believe I actually found time to sit down and put an update on here. This has been the craziest week ever, I do believe!

First of all....the pictures that I posted the last time I blogged: the top picture is of my brother, David, and his girlfriend, Emilie; the second & third pictures are just random pics that I took at my grandmother's house on Thanksgiving Day. I had a very good Thanksgiving! Lots of family, lots of food, lots of laughter! It was a good day! I really do love the holidays; but, I'm already feeling worn out, and we aren't even half way thru yet...lol!

So, the weekend after Thanksgiving, I was getting ready to start my new job on Monday. I was pretty excited about it all weekend! I went to church Sunday morning, and while I was sitting there, I started feeling really sick again (just like I had not even a week earlier). So, I came home and laid down and slept for a good 2 hours. When I got up, I felt just fine, so I was VERY relieved! I didn't want anything to happen since I was starting my job the next day. I went to bed that nite fairly early and woke up suddenly at 11:00pm Sunday nite SOOO sick to my stomach. Man, I thought I was gonna puke all over the place. Needless to say, I was sick to my stomach from 11:00 - 8:00am the next morning. I was SO ticked off. Didn't get an hour of sleep; sitting in the bathroom the whole nite...geez. So, at 6:00am, I called the staffing agency and left a message explaining what was going on and if at ALL possible, could I please start on Tuesday. I finally laid down at 8:00; the staffing agency didn't open until 9:00...so, at 10:00 when I woke up, I called them and they said that was fine...just rest for the day and be at work the next day at 8:00! I was SOOO happy! So, happily, everything got much better as the day wore on Monday...and Tuesday I started my job! And let me tell you what...wowza. I feel like I'm back in school. My poor brain was just overwhelmed with all the classes/training/info that was crammed into it for 4 days. I was so happy come Friday at 5:00!! This has been some intense training for a job that I'm not really sure I'm qualified for..but, I desperately need the money...so, I'm gonna stick it out thru all the training and see what happens. This next week, I have lots of webinars and I will be listening in on calls that other techs handle. Alot of what I will be doing (if I can get the hang of it) is creating new databases for clients that need to either upgrade or switch their current databases that they are running their software for. And helping them close out the fiscal year in their software. Alot of remoting into their computer and doing live help with them online. Yesterday we had a class on SQL. That was interesting. The teacher showed us how to go in and create new databases, set up queries, etc. But, I'm the kind of person that needs to do that hands on and about 50 times...lol! Maybe not that many times, but definitely more than once! We did do a lot of hands on work with our laptops, but I definitely would not feel comfortable helping someone else with whatever issue they are having.

Anyway - yeah, that's what I've been up to this week. Not too much else going on...oh yeah...Troy's aunt and uncle from New Jersery were down here this week in their timeshare condo over near Dauphin Island. So, last Saturday nite, we drove a little more than an hour way to visit with them. Then, Wednesday nite, they came out to our house and we all went out to eat at Carrabba's Italian Resturant. It was really good to see them! We hadn't seen them since we left Maryland in 2005.

The new challenge is going to be posted for ScrapMojo soon!!! And it's another good one! Here's a sneak of my layout...

And here are a couple more pics from Thanksgiving. The first one is of my Mom and Dad. And the second one is of Dad carving the turkey!
