sore throats = :[

I really despise being sick. I have been *SO* sick the past three days...I'm so ready for this be over with already. Needless to say these (see below) have been my bestest friends the past couple of days...thank God for ibuprofen and Nyquil.

Had a good Christmas. It was a long day. In years past, we have always done Christmas at my grandma's house on Christmas Eve night with desserts and then presents. This year was a little different. My grandpa decided he wanted to do Christmas this year on the actual day at 2:00. So, we headed over there at 2:00...had dessert, talked, laughed....then about 4:30, Troy & I, Rachel, Jeremy, David, Emilie, Mom & Dad, my Uncle Jason, Aunt Kathleen, and cousins, Austin & Ellyse, all headed over to my mom's dads house for Christmas dinner. His wife cooked a terrific meal of prime rib, turkey, shrimp, stuffing, yams, mashed potatoes, rolls, green beans...and then carrot cake, apple pie, and candies for dessert. Then, we left there around 8:00pm and headed over to my Mom and Dad's house for our gift opening...we all drew names this year. Kinda nice to only have to buy for 2 people instead of 8. Anyone that knows me knows that I despise shopping...so, I was quite pleased! I drew Troy's name and Troy drew my brother's name. I received some very nice gifts: a beautiful new set of T-FAL cookware from my parents - [I have SOO needed a new set of cookware..my old stuff had LONG since bit the dust!] - I got a pink Cropadile from my sister, Troy and I got a $50.00 gift card to our favorite resturant, Carrabba's....and we received some cash from my grandfather.

I got Troy this movie for Christmas!! LOVED this movie...how could you not with Brad Pitt, Matt Damon AND George Clooney in it...definitely a must see. I saw it in the theatre and couldn't wait for it to come out on DVD.Wednesday, I went back to work. I woke up that morning with a horrific headache. Ibuprofen did nothing for it. During the day until about 2:00, it got progressively worse. Asked my boss at 2:30 if I could go home. It was dead as dead could be at work anyway...so, I didn't feel too bad about it. Felt a bit better that evening after a long nap....woke back up Thursday morning not feeling to hot AT all. Ended up coming home...dragged myself down to another interview...came back home and went to bed. Friday, I called out. I was feeling SO awful Friday morning. My neck was so stiff I could barely move it; my throat was so scratchy and sore and was losing my voice; my head felt like a thousand jackhammers were going off in it. Geez. It was not such a good day. Had a fever all day: sweats one minute and then shakes and shivers the next. Oy. This morning, I woke up at 4:00am....feeling feverish..couldn't go back to sleep. Went out to the couch, watched the Weather Channel for about 30 minutes or so; finally fell back to sleep and woke up at 9:00. Woke the hubs up. He went and got more Nyquil. Finally...FINALLY am feeling the best I have in the past 3 days. Still can't breathe thru my nose; still have the sore throat, but at least the horrid headache is gone and my neck isn't hurting. I despise being sick.

Got in the mood to clean up my scrap space. I should have taken a "Before" photo to show you the shape it was in before my little cleaning purge happened. It was total disaster area. And I got another basket for my room...so, I sorted out all my alphas, rubons, and embellishments. As you can tell, I'm an alpha fiend! I LOVE alphas...all shapes, all sizes, all colors! That is all that is in the one basket...and most of those are Heidi Swapp block alphas and Thickers!
